Frisian Name Quiz

Welcome to the frisian name quiz. What is your Frisian name? This quiz will help you find out. There are an endless number of names, and they are all incredibly unpronounceable. For example, Doutzen Kroes, the most famous model in the world, is actually called Douwe. Douwe means "dove". Djuke, Tsjitske, and Jitske all sound like "ju-kuh". There are some you shouldn't bother with, such as Sjoukje.

If you're not sure what your name means, you can look up Frisian names by looking up the pronunciation of the word. You can also check if it is an accepted first name. Most Frisians use masculine first names. For example, Popke is short for Poppe, which means "infant." Fokke is pronounced "fuck-kuh". And Fokje is a feminine name and sounds like neen-kuh.

Most of these names have feminine or masculine endings, but you can use the -ke extension to indicate that your name is feminine. It is also possible to make a male name feminine by adding the -ke extension. For instance, the author's first name is Hans, and her younger brother has the same name. The -ke ending is a big clue. You might even be able to identify your own frisian heritage by identifying your grandfather's first and middle names.

As you can see, the names of Frisians are quite fluid. The region's water-rich land gives the language a very fluid and versatile name culture. The fact that their surnames sound so strange is an interesting fact. What's more, Frisians don't blink at names, like the word "Visser" in Dutch. And it's not just the language that's different.
